The EVENT, an evening under the stars celebrating the best of Tucson’s gourmet food, fine wine and spirits, and live entertainment will take place on Sunday, April 22, 2012 at La Encantada.

Over 1,500 people will attend the 11th Annual EVENT sampling tastes from 48 local restaurants. Enjoy wine tastings and other beverages while being entertained by live music throughout the evening. This year the chair of “THE EVENT” is Megan Jasper.

Since 1963, the Boys & Girls Clubs of Tucson has helped keep thousands of local children involved in wholesome activities, providing a positive alternative to the influence of juvenile delinquency. The Boys & Girls Clubs of Tucson offer daily access to a broad range of programs in five core areas: Character and Leadership Development; Education and Career Development; Health & Life Skills; The Arts; and Sports, Fitness, and Recreations. Currently, the Boys & Girls Clubs of Tucson has six locations throughout Tucson and serves over 8,000 youth.

The proceeds from THE EVENT help provide more than 40 programs for our youth members, and enable us to keep annual membership dues at just $5 per school year session and $5 per summer session, although the true cost per year per child is more than $700.

Founders of “THE EVENT” are David Lovitt, Mark Irvin and Laurie Wetterschneider.
